Before we get to this week’s updates from the 2028 shadow campaign, I’m excited to share some personal news, as they say…

I know you’ve all been reading my synopsis of Democrats’ endless appearances across hundreds of new media platforms you’ve never heard of and thinking to yourselves, “You know what we need? More internet shows where two white guys offer lukewarm political takes.” Well, our long national nightmare is almost over!

On April 12, myself and fellow veteran campaign-loser Rob Flaherty are launching Nobody Knows Anything – a live politics show for the post-cable era, pairing semi-professional quality analysis and aesthetics with entirely unprofessional behavior.

Maybe we can make politics fun again. Or maybe we’ll embarrass ourselves on camera and the video will haunt us forever, which is also kinda fun. But you know, hopefully the first one.

You can check out our Very Serious launch video below, and tune in next Sunday, April 12, at 8pm ET for our first live show:

Starting today, we’ll be posting clips from our test episodes on our Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok – plz throw us follows & RTs if you’re so inclined; it’ll help us with our algorithm overlords. You can also subscribe on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Or you can just carry on living your lives, I won’t be offended.

Oh, and one last thing – if you’re a reporter, political practitioner, your boss wants to be president, etc. let me know if you’re interested in coming on the show!

Okay, now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Quick Hits

  • At an NYC-DSA forum considering whether to formally endorse her for reelection, ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ committed to voting against “any spending on arms for Israel, including so-called defensive capabilities.” That vow helped her secure the endorsement – which actually represents an important shoring up of her base – and also, likely just set a new standard by which the left will measure every Democrat, much to fellow 2028ers’ chagrin.

  • RAHM EMANUEL – who is fully running for president at this point – made a two-day swing through NH that included a town hall, an education roundtable, and the famed Politics & Eggs forum. He also rolled out another policy (he’d divert ICE money to community colleges), was treated to a splashy Politico profile, published his 9th WSJ op-ed of the past 7 months, and is now headed to rural SC for two days.

  • Speaking of splashy profiles and prolific quasi-campaigns, RUBEN GALLEGO is the subject of an excellent new dispatch by CNN's Isaac Dovere from his recent trip to San Antonio, where he met with veterans struggling to get VA care & held a VoteVets town hall. He also penned a gutting op-ed in War On The Rocks about how Trump is repeating the mistakes of the Iraq War.

  • PETE BUTTIGIEG low-key admitted he was running for president at a Harvard IOP event; when a fellow panelist said turning around the trajectory of our politics required a different president, Pete quipped, “I’m working on it!”

  • GAVIN NEWSOM signed an executive order requiring AI companies seeking to do business with the state of California to demonstrate that they adhere to strong safety and privacy standards.

  • On the eve of NASA’s Artemis II mission to return man to the moon, retired NASA astronaut and former space shuttle commander MARK KELLY – who is in Cape Canaveral to watch the launch – held a Reddit AMA to answer questions about his experience. Smart!

  • CT Sen. CHRIS MURPHY – a diehard Red Sox fan and baseball traditionalist – and MD Gov. WES MOORE got in a friendly twitter fight over the MLB’s new Automated Ball-Strike System (ABS), though Moore seemed mostly motivated by the Orioles benefiting from a call, while Murphy was bemoaning the downfall of humanity.

  • MURPHY also endorsed the California Billionaire’s Tax Act ballot initiative, as Axios chronicled the growing pressures from the left for Democrats to embrace a wealth tax. As I wrote way back in November, the CA initiative is certain to become a major headache for GAVIN NEWSOM.

  • RO KHANNA sat down for an hour-long podcast interview with controversial conservative activist Robby Starbuck, which is set to be released today.
